Clare’s Yoga Styles
I guide women into feeling a stronger connection with their bodies and the feminine to support their life, work and relationships. My belief is that yoga is one of the most amazing tools not only for toning the body and increasing flexibility but also for nurturing this relationship with the Self our womanhood and coming back to ones centre. I weave different styles of yoga that I have found to be very beneficial for women into Sisterhood Gatherings and 1:1 mentorships and retreats.
I first started practising yoga when I was 18, I then took my first yoga teacher training a few years later in 2009 and haven’t looked back. Over the years I have held classes for all ages, all body types, in a variety of settings from private homes to large yoga studios in London. Clare has trained with Anne-Marie Newland, Shiva Rea, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, Agama Yoga, Ik Saran school of Kundalini Yoga, Tias Little, Sharon Gannon and David Life, Julie Martin and attended numerous yoga and wellbeing CPD’s over the years.
Yoga was the start of my wellness journey and it has evolved and flourished into my now passion - women’s wellness and empowerment - for which I am very grateful.
Once you have rebuilt your connection with yourself, your intuition and feelings, you will be able to open the door to physical, emotional and spiritual inner resources and wellbeing. Finding ease and harmony within yourself is one of the most self-empowering steps you can take – honouring yourself fully as a woman.
Styles of Yoga
My yoga sessions are taught immersed in a sonic background of the sounds of nature, an eclectic playlist or playing her own instruments: crystal singing bowls, gong, guitar and koshi chimes. She will often share excerpts from carefully chosen poems to inspire and enhance the theme of the class.
Womb Yoga.
A safe and creative practise for women to connect to their heart and womb space through nourishing circular movement sequences combining breath, meditation, mudra and mantra. This is a gentle, soothing practise allowing one to feel resourced and grounded from the toes up. Deep rest is also an important aspect of this practice creating a feeling of inner harmony and deep self-compassion. Brilliant for beginners and the more experienced who want to slow down and re-charge.
Sun Power Yoga.
An energetic, inspiring practise that is an eclectic mix of 4 traditional styles of yoga; Hatha yoga for theory, philosophy and classical asana; Iyengar yoga for alignment and posturing; Sivananda yoga for subtle mind and breath work; Ashtanga yoga for heat, flexibility and stamina. These classes are tailored to who is in the room, beginning with a yogic warm up, building to a peak pose and some fun challenges, then winding down the yogic way with a final relaxation - the best bit!
Kundalini Yoga.
A wonderful technology that works on activating and balancing the endocrine system; the glands and hormones, whilst simultaneously strengthening the nervous system to withstand daily stresses. This practise is particularly beneficial for strengthening the lower abdomen and pelvic floor. With a blend of breathwork, mantra, bandhas and yogic exercises everyone goes at their own pace and range of movement, which makes it perfect for beginners and beyond.
Embodiment Yoga.
This is a revolutionary and empowering practise for all bodies, inviting each person to investigate their own experience whilst being expertly led through creative, enjoyable sequences that have been intelligently put together with fluidity instead of hard fast rules. It is a practise that will develop functional strength, flexibility and self-confidence. An antidote to modern sedentary lives these classes will have you inwardly celebrating your ranges of motion and strength capacity.
